SUBURBAN PHILADELPHIA, MOORESTOWN, HADDONFIELD CHILDREN’S LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHER
Whether you've stumbled onto my blog by chance or arrived for a sneak peek, you are in for a treat. My blog is a fun place to take in a little bit of my world through my lens. Itty bitty newborns, chubby-cheeked toddlers, ready-to-pop pregnant bellies, little "big" kids, families and sometimes their dogs.
Beyond the smiles, you will also find a little something fun to read or discover as you (wink..wink) *waste* just a few more minutes on the internet before you go and do whatever productive thing you should be doing now.
With the Canon 5D Mark II and the camera on my iPhone, there is always something to capture. Great restaurants in the Philadelphia neighborhoods, mid-century modern furniture designs, fun places to take your kids, super duper etsy finds, or maybe some silly shots of my own kids and our dog. Sit back, relax, and subscribe to my RSS. Smile!

If you’ve been in front of my lens, you know that I won’t stand for any “cheeeeeesee.” However, I had to make an exception for The Pop Shop’s reigning Kings and Queen of Grilled Cheese. What is that you say? You don’t know about this monarchy that exists on Haddon Avenue in Collingswood? During April’s National Grilled Cheese month, a king and queen were crowned with this very auspicious title. The qualities required of such royalty are poise, a refined palate, a great sense of humor, a good dose of moxie, and - of course - a love of grilled cheese. The Pop Shop makes one killer grilled cheese. Just ask Bobby Flay. Yes - “the” Bobby Flay. He dropped in back in January for one of his famous Throwdowns! Let’s just say Bobby didn’t leave with any bragging rights.
So, without further adieu….the Kings and Queen of the Grilled Cheese as captured by me outside the Pop Shop on a beautiful summer evening.

June 30, 2009 - 8:16 am - Never in history has Grilled Cheese looked so good. Great photos of a cool eatery in a cool neighborhood. Check it out. FCC III
June 30, 2009 - 6:04 pm - I love the photo of my son the "King"... All of you photos actually.. Did any on my 2 sons come out? Just wondering... Really awesome... Oh, and the grilled Cheese at the Pop Shop is very good too!!
June 30, 2009 - 7:54 pm - Oooo...I love that Pop Shop. Can they open one up in the Boston area...please!
I stepped out the front door this morning and was welcomed by this large round yellow ball of gases who’s satellite navigation must have been on the frits recently because we haven’t seen it in SO long! Sunshine! Glorious summer sunshine with white puffy clouds and not a drop of humidity in the air. I knew it was going to be a good day. It turned out to be a great day when I met 7 month old, “C” and his very fun parents at the studio. I took one look at those chubba wubba legs, humungous blue eyes and that hint-o’-red hair and knew I was in for a treat. Now, here’s a treat for you. Check out this “sneak peek.” Oh, baby love, he is soooo cute!

the end…(ba dum bump chhhh)

June 28, 2009 - 1:51 pm - Lora...these are too precious! You always have such creative work! Congrats!
June 28, 2009 - 7:21 pm - I just love those big gummy smiles!! Cute fanny shot, too!
Little “B” flashes a smile and his baby blues light up the room. Little pools of wonder. Mr. Adorable was so agreeable to all the wardrobe changes and had me singing all the classics (elmo’s song, dora’s theme song, the barney clean-up song.) Thank you “B” for a wonderful morning of fun and thanks for sharing your itty bitty smiley goldfish with me. Here is a sneak peek for mommy, daddy and GaGa. Don’t you just love these boots?! Oodles of cuteness.

a little vintage touch here

June 26, 2009 - 5:16 pm - Love these! I want to see more on the tracks. LOVE THAT!!! I need to get some kids on my new locations! I love the boots too! so cute!
June 26, 2009 - 7:29 pm - Love the high key!! Great shots!! He's adorable!
I had the opportunity to stroll down the streets of Manayunk this morning with the adorable pink pettiskirted namesakes of Gia Bella Children’s boutique. (You may remember these smiling faces from this.) I think “streetscape shooting” is one of my favorite things to do. There is always lots of color, texture, architecture and of course - people. Everyone who passed by gushed about how cute these sisters are. Don’t you agree?
P.S. - Here’s a little blogtest (that’s a contest on a blog - I just made it up, so don’t search for it in a dictionary of internet speak) Ready? Name the establishment who’s colorful sign is hanging high in this first image. There is blog love in it for you. A $5 dunkin donuts gift card - because iced coffee + summer = smiles.

June 25, 2009 - 8:27 pm - looks like le bus? thats my ol' hood.
June 25, 2009 - 11:19 pm - Darn, you're good! Yes, it's Le Bus. This is my 2nd blog giveaway and you've won twice! The Dunkin' Donuts fairy will appear on your front porch soon with your winnings. Cheers!
June 25, 2009 - 11:37 pm - Too cute! Love the last one with the hands over the mouth.
June 27, 2009 - 2:01 pm - I love the pics! I can't pick a favorite! They turned out so cute! Thanks again!
June 29, 2009 - 11:15 pm - LOVE these! especially the huggie one!
July 1, 2009 - 10:34 pm - These pictures are gorgeous. I got an opportunity to take pics of kids and it was much harder than pets. It was just for fun and for free so it wasn't necessary to be great, but now that I see these, I want to be great! You're an amazing photographer.

It’s official. You asked for it. Yes, it’s true. It may cost a little more (for me that is), but you’re worth it. For all you clients out there who love to swipe your American Express card because…a.) it’s a “true” AmEx card and you pay it off monthly and keep yourself out of debt (hooray!) or b.) you love to rack up points for air travel, vacations, gifts, etc., then rejoice! Lora Carr Photography is thrilled to announce that in addition to accepting #4 and #5 plastic (Visa and MasterCard - you do know that all Visa cards begin with #4 and all MasterCard with #5? - really nonsense knowledge - but ehh) the credit card machine at the studio will now sing when #3’s, I mean, American Express is swiped.
My life. My card.
