Welcome to the Lora Carr Photography Blog

Whether you've stumbled onto my blog by chance or arrived for a sneak peek, you are in for a treat. My blog is a fun place to take in a little bit of my world through my lens. Itty bitty newborns, chubby-cheeked toddlers, ready-to-pop pregnant bellies, little "big" kids, families and their dogs.

Outside the lens, I also love to focus on great restaurants in the Philadelphia neighborhoods, mid-century modern furniture designs, fun places to take your kids, super duper etsy finds, or maybe some silly shots of my own kids and our dog. Sit back, relax, and subscribe to my RSS. Smile!

I am always so thrilled for those lucky women who make the decision to capture their gorgeous pregnant form in front of my lens. To have images from this amazing time in your life is incredible. To be able to share them with the child that was inside must be wonderful. Here is a sneak peek of another gorgeous woman who will be welcoming her baby in just a matter of days. There is just one word that comes to mind — beautiful!

happy baby | philadelphia newborn photographer

Two words. Happy. Baby. That about sums up little “J.” Oooh, isn’t he so squeezable? He was “talking” and flirting with me during our recent baby plan session and I was lovin’ every minute of it. I don’t think there is anything else is the world as calming as being in the presence of a sweet baby. All the other cares of the day seem to drift away. Just a little peek into our happy session.

third time’s a charm | philadelphia baby photographer

This is the third time I have photographed baby “B” for our studio baby plan, and boy, is he charming! Big BLUE eyes, dark hair, and a passion for putting toys into his mouth. 10 months old never looked so cute. We’ve never included “daddy” in a sneak peek, so “R,” it’s your turn.  Enjoy!

waiting for baby | philadelphia newborn photographer

I had the opportunity to photograph these parents of a “soon-to-be-born” baby  who will quickly find out how lucky he is to having such incredible parents. Not only are they a genuine, kind and loving couple, but they have AWESOME baby-naming skills. What’s the name?  You’ll have to wait until baby arrives. Here’s a sneak peek into our session that included a very well-loved and unique “Tom Bear.”

Good Dog Studio at Lora Carr Photography and Your Dog and You invite you to join us on Monday, March 15th for “Helping Paws – Pet Portrait Event.”

The Animal Orphanage in Voorhees has reached out for help from the community as two of their shelter orphans, Hemi & Peanut, have been diagnosed with heart worms. This condition is treatable, but very expensive — $700 to $900 per dog.

In an effort to raise the much needed funds so these dogs may begin their treatment immediately, we are inviting you to participate in this pet portrait event.

Good Dog Studio at Lora Carr Photography is a boutique photography studio located in a charming turn-of-the-century lumber mill in Moorestown, NJ.  Lora captures your best friend with fresh and fun images. These pets who have earned a place in your hearts certainly deserve a place on your walls.

Helping Paws – Pet Portrait Event is a fun-filled day of individually scheduled mini portrait sessions for your dog.  Dog Behavior Specialist and creator of Your Dog and You, Christine Nolan, a graduate of Linn Boyke’s, ZEN4K9S School of Dog Psychology and Rehabilitation Center in Southern California will be on hand to answer your questions. www.yourdogandyou.com

Here’s how it works:

- Call today to book your Helping Paws mini session for your dog* – only 12 sessions available -  856.816.1407 or email: lora@loracarr.com

- Lora Carr Photography will donate your $75 mini session fee directly back to The Animal Orphanage in Voorhees specifically for treatment for Hemi & Peanut.

- You will receive a $75 credit good towards your portrait order.

- Each donor will receive a fabulous “Good Dog” goody bag with healthy and nutritious treats from Bill’s Wonderland of Pets located in Magnolia

- All Helping Paws donor dogs will be featured in the Good Dog gallery on the Lora Carr Photography website, www.loracarr.com

- Finally! Each dog will be entered to win a full signature portrait session with Good Dog Studio at Lora Carr Photography

Make a difference in the life of a dog, and capture your loyal pal with portraits that you will enjoy forever.  Session bookings are first-come, first served and will be gone quickly!

Can’t make it to our event? The Animal Orphanage welcomes your donation, in any amount for this worthy effort.  You may donate at www.theanimalorphanage.org
